Q: Nothing happens when KurtUSB devices are plugged in for the first time.

Check KurtUSB Base AC power cord
Insure proper insertion of USB cable in computer
Check proper connection between units
Verify USB ports are enabled in system BIOS (see computer documentation)
Verify USB ports are enabled in operating system. For Windows 98, go to Control Panel - System - Device Manager - Universal Serial Bus Controller and check proper configuration of USB controller and root hub
