The KurtUSB DC I/O interface will eliminate the need for PLC type control enclosures in many applications. Using the 24 volts from the KurtUSB Control Power module or from an external power source, the DC I/O module can directly monitor photo eyes, switches and buttons and drive valves, beacon lights and relays. The 16 supplied inputs have an automatic sourcing/sinking detect, which means either type of input device can be connected to any input. The 16 supplied outputs are all internally fused and can be wired to be active constantly or only when there is not an emergency stop button pressed. The Event/Actions and new Pushbuttons in the KurtSPC software will allow complete machine control in most cases without the need for a PLC or even an electrical enclosure.
